The Trust was founded in 1990 by a private benefactor Mr Charles Brian Dennis, a keen and highly knowledgeable beekeeper. On his death his estate was bequeathed to the Trust, which now has assets of over £1 million pounds invested. The income from these investments provides the funding for research supported by the Trust. We have an ethical Investment policy, which can be viewed here.
The Trust is administered by a group of Trustees, all of whom have relevant scientific, environmental or ecological expertise that helps to ensure that work funded by the Trust is properly evaluated and provides the greatest possible advantage for bees. Details of the Trust held by the Charity Commission can be found via their website.
